YELLOW has been an important open mic space for me, as I have been very frustrated with the lack of Asian representation around me this month. Despite what the U.S. may be claiming now, it is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Therefore I’m excited to be participating in YELLOW’s CommemorASIAN event this Sunday, beginning at 12 PM CDT. It is free, but you must reserve a ticket to get the Zoom link: click here. You’ll also get a “gift bag” of material relevant to what we’re sharing.

I acknowledge that Asian is not equivalent to AANHPI and that Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander face an even greater erasure. I have included some Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders in the presentation that is accompanying my poetry set, but I know it’s the bare minimum.
I am very grateful for the opportunities I do get, such as April’s Dirty Moonlight event at The Wild Detectives’ 11th anniversary celebration. The podcast recording is now available!
Thank you Logen Cure for having me and letting me do it in cosplay (since it was WeebCon weekend and I read one of my Shadows Over Welde-inspired pieces).
